The first big taste of Spring in Melbourne has arrived. It is one of the great races of the Australian Turf, and if you want to read about the history of the race and some of the great past winners, have a look at this month's Turf Monthly. Anyway, on to the race this year and it looks an interesting one. As we see there are some starting out on a Spring campaign and others that will see this largely as their grand final. Runners with a DI of around 2.70 have had good success in the race over the years, and I think that the NZ visitor Sierra Sue might be one to watch. Of course there are a lot of chances and last year's winner, Behemoth, must be a good chance.
